January Jobs-Added and Unemployment Numbers

In what some are calling a “self-sustaining” recovery, the U.S. Department of Labor is reporting that January saw 257,000 new jobs and the emergence of some wage increases not visible since the recent financial crisis. Correspondingly, unemployment climbed a percentage point due possibly to out-of-work job seekers becoming active again.
