Equal Pay Act Fails in One Prominent Profession

If an analysis of the compensation trends of registered nurses (RNs) in the U.S. is any indication, the 50+ year old Equal Pay Act of 1963 hasn't fulfilled its objective. A study reported in the JAMA: Journal of the American Medical Association finds that male RNs out earned female RNs across settings, specialties and positions, with no narrowing of the pay gap over time.
