Online Job Filtering Results in Gender Discrimination

Researchers in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University have found that significantly fewer women than men were shown online ads promising help getting higher paying jobs. Using a tool that creates simulated user profiles, the online employment sites contacted were kinder to men when connecting to positions paying top earnings. Who or what is responsible remains unknown.
