What role do interests play in career identification, decision-making and eventual satisfaction? Long considered a major factor in career development, a research team working out of the University of Houston and other institutions analyzed longitudinal data presented via the interest assessment tool of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Information Network (O*NET) to offer a fresh perspective on the belief.
