So, what is that one unique quality a new hire candidate must possess? Simple. It’s a sense of humor. Think about
that phrase – a sense of humor. It’s more than just being funny. It’s having a sense of what it takes to be funny and
when. Do you even have that characteristic on your list? Of course not. But I challenge you to think about your most
productive associates, regardless of the role. Don’t they all have the ability to bring fun to a situation?

So, what is that one unique quality a new hire candidate must possess? Simple. It’s a sense of humor. Think about that phrase – a sense of humor. It’s more than just being funny. It’s having a sense of what it takes to be funny and when. Do you even have that characteristic on your list? Of course not. But I challenge you to think about your most productive associates, regardless of the role. Don’t they all have the ability to bring fun to a situation? And do it at the right time and in the right way? That is a compelling quality you either have or don’t have. It isn’t something you can train a new hire on. But why is this such a necessary trait to seek? I explain eight reasons why having a sense of humor leads to greater success with people.
Upon completion, participants will be able to: 1. Understand the importance of a person's sense of humor in having great people skills. 2. Be able to determine whether someone has a sense of humor or is just funny. Or not. 3. Have a greater understanding of how humor contributes to a higher degree of success. 4. Fully embrace the idea of looking for staff members who have the gift of humor.
